by Adam Rozum
The title of this book works on many levels— it’s a clear (and graphically muscular) statement of purpose and focus, but it also alludes to Rozum’s obvious love of the process. Students will certainly benefit from Adam’s rigorous approach. His ability to balance the demands of the client against the real-world constraints of clear communication and commercial function is clearly demonstrated, but I think the most important thing Adam has done is demonstrate that simple procedures, when driven by a strong clear vision and a clearly enunciated mission, can lead to visual magic. To be sure, Adam documents the hard and serious work that underlies all good design. But his joy in the act of creating is also clearly present, and for that alone, this book will stand as a real achievement.
